We are Augustines, Coachella 2012, Weekend1. Billy's voice so naturally urgent - his personal story so damn tragic - their set SO tight and delivered with SO SO much heart and passion it was just SMASHING.

Thank you John Roderick for sharing your incredible art with us last evening. Brought to tears more than once by your poetry and performance I felt so fortunate to experience your self-declared ‘sandbox’. Thank you for trusting us enough to be there – exactly where you were with crafting the show – what a gift. So many magical phrases of yours roll through my head on a daily basis – a link to hindsight for my friends who aren’t as familiar with your work below.
Shit man. I hope you believe to the depths of your marrow that you’re a stunning artist. What you have given us already in your life is so so rich. Thank you. When I read this Rumi bit I always think of you: “He who throws heart's doors wide open, Can see the sun in every atom.”
“you keep scratching at the old paint but the wood is still there and the room is still there”
“if you're trying to feel the wind well that's a window you're pressed against”
“if you're my anchor then I'm throwing you over the side before I have the time to say I never wanted anyone this way”
And this. THIS. This.
“and if I hold you now will I be holding a snowball when the season changes and I'm craving the sun?
Are you still training for the big race by hoping the runners will die? Churning the words of your disgrace but it's how you are when you're down that counts”
Holy crap. Colin Gawel’s written a frackin’ ton of great songs – but “Superior” by my measure is his most beautiful yet. The video has just gone live and it’s just as lovely as the song and the namesake. Congrats Colin!
And I could find another dream, one that keeps me warm and clean but I ain't dreamin' anymore, I'm waking up. So I'll take two of what you're having and I'll take everything you got to kill this goddamn lonely, goddamn lonely love.
Packing listneing to Erlend Øye "The Athlete" brilz..."There's a battle between the athlete and himself and between him and the people there to help. Their incentive is for the pressure to conceive the ignition of another level of reach. Do I want this? Do I want this in my life? Is it worth it? Worth the sacrifice?"
I'm SORRY, WHAT? Bon Iver covered The Outfield’s “Your Love” at some show? My head would have exploded. I know they covered something at the ohmygodsomagicalinearlydiedonthespot show I saw them play at Neumos but it was some important songwriter person I wasn't really aware of Shelley McIntyre was, of couse, but I did...n't know who it was. So GREAT. next time I see them live I'm gonna be the cougar screaming from somewhere just behind the front few rows "Play YOUR LOVE" annoying the hell outta suuuupergenius hot mountainman Justin. I still don't have my head wrapped around this. Bon Iver. Your Love. WAH?
WHO HAS THIS RECORDED? c'mon folks.
That's like one of 3 songs in the world that makes me DELIriously happy no matter where or when I hear it.
Actual which talks about other stuff about which I could care. Not really but "Your LOVE". OMG.
