Please direct any available bandwith in your thoughts/prayers/meditations, etc. toward Salem Community Hospital where my mom is very courageously battling serious heart problems. The details for those interested or who know something about this and can offer advice (send to chris at christinel.org) look something like this:
My mother has had congestive heart failure – but we’re not sure to what extent her heart has been damaged yet. They’re still working to stabilize her heart because apparently the top (ventricles) part beats wildly and irregularly and is out of synch (sinus or something) with the bottom part which causes things not to pump out or back in appropriately. This causes fluid to collect around the heart, lungs and most other parts of the body and, of course, clotting/breaking free of clots which leads to stroke Before we’ll know anything about how much damage or weakening has occurred, they have to get her wildly beating/pout of synch heart stable for a 24 hour period. It looked like we were doing well most of the day yesterday, but in the afternoon it (for lack of a more technical term) started freaking out yesterday and we had a swarm of doctors and needles and medicine for a few hours trying to get it calmed back down and keep a clot from breaking loose, which could, of course, cause a stroke. When I left late last night the irregular part had slowed but things still weren’t in synch. Funny side note is that the two parts of the heart being in synch (sinus) is called Converting –so the nurses keep telling my mother that she hasn’t converted yet!
